Kambo is the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor monkey frog, traditionally used in Amazonian medicine and applied through small superficial skin points. It moves through the lymphatic system as a purgative, cleansing ceremony — non-psychoactive, deeply somatic, and traditionally used to clear heaviness and restore clarity.
Eat whole, nourishing foods that make you feel good — no strict diet, just clean and simple.
Hydrate generously. Add electrolytes or a pinch of salt to your water, especially the days leading up to ceremony.
Ease off your phone and screens where you can.
Journal — get crystal clear on your intentions for the ceremony.
Abstain from drugs and alcohol for at least 3 days before (and after).
Begin to commune with the spirit of Kambo — you're already in conversation with the frog.
Fasting & Timing
Morning Session
Fast 8–12 hours beforehand — a normal dinner the night before is fine. Up to 1 liter of water in the morning, with a pinch of salt.
Evening Session
Eat a big breakfast by 8–9am, then fast for the rest of the day. Water is fine throughout. Session begins around 4–5pm.
Herbal tea is fine throughout the day — just skip caffeine, citrus, and honey.
Day Of
Keep the rest of your day clear — nothing major planned after. Giving yourself space to integrate can feel really nice.
Have grounding food ready at home so you don't need to go out afterward: coconut water and bone broth (or vegetable broth) are wonderful for remineralizing.
